After graduating from the Royal College of Art ( RCA ) with a Master’s degree in Jewellery and Metal Work, jewellery designer Juefang Yang trained as a gemologist at the Gemological Institute of America ( GIA ). Now based in London, she oversees a growing innovative fine jewellery brand specialising in bespoke services.
A master of innovation, Juefang seamlessly combines old traditions with new aesthetics and cutting edge technology. Working closely alongside the most skilled craftsmen to realise her groundbreaking point of view, Juefang creates one-of-a-kind timeless new classic. Her work challenges the use of materials and techniques to encourage a shift in perception - reimagining an object’s form and function to create new narratives.
Celebrating the Old, joining with the new. With great respect to traditional craftsmanship, Juefang works closely with a professional jade carving training base in Yunnan, China, comprises solely of people with disabilities, to support the employability of this demographic and help passing down the fading ancient techniques.
In her CONNECT collection, solid blocks of jadeite are painstakingly selected for perfect quality and colour, and hand carved into soft chains with the highest level of skills. Hand carved jade chain connecting to 3D printed gold links, materials flow together like our modern interconnected world. Skills of the past linking to the technology of today. Juefang's creation is not only a "west meets east", but also a conversation between the past and the present.
